Transitioning from a family-owned business to an ESOP in 2018 was driven by our belief that our employees are the backbone of our success. By becoming an ESOP, we made each employee a co-owner, ensuring everyone has a stake in our collective success.

Employees are more involved in decision-making and take greater pride in their work. Before becoming an ESOP, our company employees had an average tenure of 10-24 years. Since 2018, we’ve had even lower turnover. People are invested in our business for the long-term.
Employee ownership offers greater financial security, adding to the longevity of our people’s tenure with IDI and our clients continued experience with the team they know and trust. Clients recognize that our employee-owners are personally invested in project outcomes, as their success is directly tied to the success of each project.

A 2023 NCEO (National Center for Employee Ownership) found that ESOPs reported a voluntary resignation rate of their employees at roughly one-third the national average. In addition, the study found that employee owners, on average, have more than double the retirement savings in comparison to non-ESOP counterparts. Source
