At IDI, we’ve restructured our safety committees to foster open dialogue. Led by the Safety Director, these committees are essential to maintaining a strong safety culture.
Our safety team, including the Safety Director, 5 Officers, 7 Superintendents, and the Warehouse Manager, meets bi-monthly to review safety goals, injury statistics, and recent incidents. We discuss corrective measures to prevent recurrence and train affected personnel.
Additionally, we update safety policies, assess new safety technologies, and determine beneficial safety training topics to prevent fatalities, injuries, and health hazards. We also evaluate and approve recommendations from the Field Safety Committee.
Comprising our Safety Director, a carpenter, taper, painter, acoustic carpenter and a drywall hanger; this committee meets bi-monthly, addressing the same safety topics as the Management Safety Committee. In addition to routine discussions, we encourage members to candidly share field safety insights without fear of repercussions. Emphasizing that this is their platform to express concerns, we seek genuine feedback on our safety culture and training to drive improvements for the benefit of the company, individuals, colleagues and their loved ones.
We have had excellent results with the two safety committee format.
